A little about Jeff...

Tenor Saxophonist Jeff Rupert has toured, recorded and performed with several Jazz greats, including Maynard Ferguson, Diane Schuur, Mel Torme and Sam Rivers. Jeff is also an accomplished educator; he heads the Jazz Studies program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. On his latest release, FROM MEMPHIS TO MOBILE, Jeff explores the blues form with cohorts Kenny Drew, Jr. on piano, Richard Drexler on bass and John Jenkins on drums. Jeff and piano virtuoso Kenny perform remarkable duets on Sam Rivers' "Beatrice," Gerswhin's "I Loves You, Porgy," "Basin Street Blues" (complete with a nod to Pops!) and the gorgeous Ellington tune "A Single Petal of a Rose."

Jeff continues to teach the wonders of improvisational music to new generations, while honing his craft and playing at clubs and festivals worldwide..
