A little about Jeff...

Master pianist Jeff Lashway was Maynard Ferguson's final keyboardist. Jeff toured and recorded with the legendary trumpeter for many years. Originally from Pittsburgh, Jeff honed his pianistic skills in clubs and concert halls there, performing with local jazz luminaries like Kenny Blake, Roger Humphries and Joe Negri. He eventually settled in Indianapolis, then moved on to his current home base, New Orleans.

A very skilled composer and arranger, Jeff's debut project, REUNION, features a host of today's top jazz players. Jeff grew up with the incredible drummer Vinnie Colaiuta --- The two are reunited on this recording, with Vinnie smoking on a rare straight ahead session. Tenor player Jeff Rupert was Lashway's roommate on Maynard's band, while vocalist Jimmy Hall (who is featured on "Down Here on the Ground" and on the "For NOLA" medley) was on Jeff Beck's band with Vinnie. A grand REUNION, indeed!!!

Jeff's arranging skills are in evidence, as the unique charts crackle with Jim Rotondi on trumpet, Frank Basile on bari and John Allred on trombone. Swinging bassist Todd Coolman holds down the bottom.

Lashway continues to perform in New Orleans and throughout the musical world, while conjuring plans for more stellar recordings!
