Random Act Records is a unique new record label devoted to creating art while making a difference. Not only does Random Act Records record swinging jazz artists, jazz bands, and their smoking sounds, but 10% from all our Jazz CDs goes to benefit charity.
Random Act Records was founded in 2009 by Scott Elias and his wife and partner, Anna. Scott is a lifelong musician who started playing professionally at the age of 14 in Pittsburgh, and went on to perform with such musical greats as Slide Hampton, Sonny Stitt and Richard “Groove” Holmes. (Anna just really likes great music...and giving to charity.)
Scott eventually gravitated to filmmaking, and traveled the country working on and producing such studio films as Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality 2 and The Lake House with Sandra Bullock, and Music & Lyrics starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. (Anna loves movies, too, as it turns out. She worked with Scott on Practical Magic and A Time to Kill with Sandra Bullock, The Client with Tommy Lee Jones, and Sommersby with Jodie Foster and Richard Gere.)
Scott never lost his first love of jazz music or jazz records, and brings his creative, musical and producing expertise to every CD on his new record label. Random Act Records Jazz CDs have garnered rave reviews and chart-topping successes. Check out the ARTISTS and ALBUMS pages to learn more, and to enjoy the music. Random Act Records will continue to bring you the highest quality music and a world of charitable good. (Meantime, Anna will be filing receipts, paying bills and shipping Jazz CDs.)

Carmen Intorre
Drummer Carmen Intorre's will release his debut album, FOR THE SOUL, on May 22nd.. FOR THE SOUL features one of the greatest all-star jazz bands, including John Hart on guitar, Jon Irabagon on saxophones, Pat Bianchi on keyboards and organ, and the inimitable Joey DeFrancesco on organ. This organ-based album includes unique arrangements of tunes not usually associated with the Jazz organ genre. Songs by Chick Corea, Weather Report, Freddie Hubbard, Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan create joyous sounds, as does Carmen's beguiling, original ballad. Joey and Pat, perhaps THE best organists on the scene today, play together on a couple of tracks!
Virtuoso pianist Kenny Drew, jr. has just completed an amazing trio album, featuring swinging bassist Jon Burr (Tony Bennett, Chet Baker, Stan Getz) and incredible drummer Marty Morrell (Duke Ellington Orchestra, Bill Evans). CORAL SEA will be released on Random Act Records in June, 2012.
